I have been meaning to post about different things for awhile now, projects we have been working on, baby shower pics etc. I may still get around to those topics, but I wanted to write about the biggest news in my life right now which is the birth of Lucille Valeta Jarman!
When it happened:
I woke up from a not very restful sleep on Wednesday, April 27th and started having painful back contractions. (although we weren't sure at the time that that is what they were) Since I was only 35 weeks pregnant I tried to just ignore them and Robert went off to work in Phoenix as usual. At about 11:00 I started timing the pains and found them to be about 5 minutes apart and lasting for about 30 seconds or so. When the contractions started to get more painful I finally decided to call the doctor and ask him about it. Unfortunately, I called while he was at lunch and so left a message for his nurse to call me back. When she still didn't call me back for an hour I called again only to be told that she was just checking her messages and would get back to me soon. I waited another half hour and after talking to Robert (who thought that they would probably tell me nothing was wrong) I called the Drs. office again. I was finally able to talk to the nurse (after 2 hours of trying) and she said that the Dr. advised that I go down to the hospital and get hooked up to the monitor to see what was going on. I called my mom to take me cause there is no way I would have driven safely through one of those contractions (which were now more frequent than every 5 minutes). I called Robert to let him know I was going to the hospital to get checked out and that I would keep him updated. We got to the hospital and after some very confused old men at the front desk told us where we were supposed to go I went in and signed some papers etc. all the while this lady was saying, "when you come in to actually deliver you won't have to do this again". Finally I go in to the room and get hooked up to the monitors, the nurse checks and finds out that I am already dilated to an 8. Needless to say things picked up a little bit from there. I called Robert again and told him to come, they put an IV in, and took me to the delivery room. Luckily Robert got there before the Dr. did (the nurse told me I was at 9 1/2 cm when I asked her to check again, but I think she just didn't want to tell me I was at 10 till the Dr got there.) When the Dr. got there about 10 minutes later, he broke my water and after maybe 20 minutes of pushing Lucy was born at 5:22 pm! I would say that it was the hardest and best thing I have ever done.

Congratulations!
She is darling! Congrats to your family.
yay!!!! yay!!!!! yay!!!!!!
I look forward to many more pictures of your beautiful baby girl. Also laughed when I saw your baby widget says you still have 24 days to go.
Ha ha, I love that the nurse told you you were at 9 1/2 centimeters, because you are right, there really is no "9 1/2 centimeters"! Another nurse line is "No we're going to do some practice pushes." Yeah, no, they aren't practice pushes, they're real pushes, it's just that the doctor typically doesn't want to come in until the baby is RIGHT THERE! I'm glad everything went well for you, she is absolutely beautiful and precious and full of hope for the future. Love you much.

Congratulations! We are happy to hear everyone is doing well.
Melanie - oh yeah I forgot about that thing, guess I don't really need it anymore. My baby is way cuter than that one on the widget.
Carol- Yeah the Dr. came in and broke my water and then left to go change. The nurse had to call him back in, when the head started to come out.
ps so your blog says you have 19 days left to go! whoot whoot!
She is so adorable! Can't wait to come and meet her!
