then and now

How my life has changed during my first year of marriage...

Then:

Honeymoon
Now:

1st Anniversary

June 2011 - It still fits!

Happy Anniversary

I'm a little behind on posting, but on June 12th we had our 1 year anniversary! Crazy how the time just flies by! We celebrated the day before, on Saturday, by going to this movie:

and eating at this restaurant:

(with only a brief intermission between the two to run back to my mom's to feed lucy)

The movie was enjoyable (I think I enjoyed it more than Robert) and dinner was delicious. We both got a salad which was followed by a scoop of raspberry sherbet (or sorbet) to cleanse our pallet. Fancy! Then we had our main course which was steak and mini potatoes for me, and meatloaf and mashed potatoes for Robert. They also gave us a bowl of cooked carrots to share. Yum! After dinner we came back home and partook of this:

The top of our wedding cake that had been frozen all year. Which was actually still quite delicious.

I couldn't have asked for a more amazing year, I am so grateful for Robert and the wonderful man that he is. I'm also loving this little family that we have started, and am looking forward to another great year!

Father's Day

I just wanted to take a minute and express my love and appreciation for my wonderful husband. He is always so loving and supportive. He helps out a ton with Lucy, and doesn't complain when (occasionally) he comes home from work and the thought of dinner hasn't even crossed my mind. He is such an amazing daddy, and me and Lucy wish him a happy father's day!

Baby Blessing

Robert was able to give Lucy her first blessing on Sunday June 5th, 2011. We are glad that so many family members were able to come support and celebrate with us at the blessing as well as that night at our home. We are so blessed to have this little girl in our lives!

Mother's Day

While I was pregnant with Lucy I jokingly told Robert that it wasn't fair that he would get to celebrate Father's Day, but that I wouldn't be a mom yet on Mother's Day. Well I think Lucy must have felt bad for me, so she decided to come early enough for me to know the joy of being a mom by the time mother's day came around.

The women on my mom's side of the family get together every year the day before mother's day for a celebratory breakfast. This was my first year going, and I had a lot of fun eating and catching up with everyone.

On Mother's Day we were able to go to two different wards and listen to amazing talks on women and mothers - one given by Robert's sister and another by one of his brothers. After that we had a delicious bbq at my sisters' house. All in all I'd say it was a very successful Mother's Day.

(4 generations)

Happy Belated Mother's Day to all the wonderful women out there!

this makes me smile

She looks like a little baby sumo wrestler in this position, with those rolls. But I just love that smile!

Lucy is 5 weeks old now - crazy how fast it seems to go by. She is eating about every 2-3 hours still - even at night (which I hope changes soon), and she is awake more often now, which is a lot of fun unless she is crying and then...not so much. She loves going outside and she loves being held. Here are some pictures from birth to 5 weeks:

One of her very first photos. The scale shows 5 lbs. 11.3 oz

Sleeping at the hospital.

Too cute to not take a picture of

We like to play with her while she sleeps. She loves us!

First time wearing this cute outfit. About to go to church - spit up all over it right after the pic was taken.

She loves tummy time!
