Camping

During spring break a couple of weeks ago me and Robert were able to go camping with some other members of the Jarman clan. Our campsite was right next to Bartlet lake so everyone had a lot of fun canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. The few who were crazy enough brave enough to try swimming agreed that it was a bit too cold for comfort. I didn't get too many pictures - seems like most people try to avoid the camera when camping...weird.

We had the best food on this trip - eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, hot dogs, tin foil dinners, pizza, roast and potatoes, and of course lots and lots of s'mores were some of the things on the menu.

Thanks to everyone who made this such a fun trip! It was really nice to be able to get away for a few days!

Pi Day

Yesterday I celebrated Pi day by making pies with my mom and one of my sisters. We made 4 different kinds of pies - lemon meringue, strawberry banana, chocolate, and pumpkin. We also had Shepard's pie for dinner, so technically there were 5 pies :) It was a lot of fun and extremely delicious! I forgot to take pictures so you will just have to look at this random pie instead.

An Ode to Rain

I love rain. I love the way it sounds and the way it smells. I love how it makes green trees stand out in contrast with the gray sky. I love walking in it, running in it, dancing in it. I love how it reminds me of rainy day schedule in elementary school - how we would play heads up 7 up, or quiet ball. I love how it brings back memories of highschool and having puddle fights during lunch only to be followed by a long and wet seminary class. And how when on rainy days the rest of the track team would call it quits early, the distance runners would go even farther. I love how I think of the puddle fight in college that was followed by a trip to the hot tub - because Flagstaff rain is so much colder than Mesa rain. I love curling up with a good book next to a window so I can enjoy the storm while I read. I love how rain often brings thunder and lightning with it - which means more awesome sights and sounds to behold. I love how things seem quieter when it rains. I love how it makes you want to cuddle up close with someone. I love rain.

Yuma

We have been talking about visiting my sister in Yuma for a few months now, and last weekend we finally were able to go! It was a ton of fun being able to see their new house (which I guess isn't really that new anymore) and hang out with their family. We drove down Friday afternoon, played with the kids, enjoyed a delicious dinner, and even had a chance to talk and play games with Cynthia and Chris after the kiddos went to bed. Saturday we went to a camel farm and got to see and feed some different animals.

Kaylee didn't want the animals touching her, but she had a lot of fun throwing the food at them.

After lunch and a little relaxation we went to this sweet park that the kids love!

In other news, I'm now 22 weeks pregnant! Yay over half way there! At our last Drs. appointment we found out that it is "definitely a girl", we are super excited for when we will be able to meet our little bundle of joy come May. I don't have any "this is me at 5 months" pregnancy pics, so you will just have to use the ones above. Yes that is me 21 weeks pregnant, although I feel like I'm sticking out more now than I was last week...

Christmas...Finally

Christmas was a lot of fun this year, from dinner and gingerbread men decorating with the Jarmans, to Christmas caroling and story telling with the Fifes - a good time was had all around.

Christmas day Robert and I exchanged presents at home before all the big family stuff.

I crocheted this hat and scarf for Robert. I also got him a nintendo 64 and his favorite game mario kart - which he smokes me at pretty much every time we play.

Robert got me a super cute brown puffy vest, a puzzle, and 2 bracelets like the one he got me on our honeymoon that I lost. (Sorry no pics of me)

We then went of to my parent's house to open presents:

After the craziness died down a bit at the Fife's we went over to the Jarman house for food, fun and more presents!

It was a great year, and an amazing Christmas! We are especially excited about our newest nephew who was born on Christmas Eve - congrats to Will and Anja! Hope everyone had a Happy New Year!

Sledgehammer Fun

About a week ago Robert went over to his sister's new house to break down a wall so the garage could actually be used as a garage. Here he is hard at work:

I ended up breaking down quite a bit of the wall, and had a ton of fun doing it!

Christmas Time is Here

December has been great so far! We got all of my parents old lights for the house, so we spent the day after Thanksgiving putting those up. I wanted to post a picture but unfortunately I kept putting it off, and now some of our lights don't work cause we blew a fuse. So hopefully sometime before Christmas we will get it fixed and be able to post a picture. Meanwhile here is our tree. (Which we also got from my parents - it was lucky for us that they decided to get all new stuff this year)

I had my Christmas baking day on Friday and made fudge, peanut butter rice krispy treats, and no bake cookies. I didn't actually use my oven at all, so I don't know if I can really call it "baking" but I don't really know what else it would be so.... I was so glad that my fudge turned out perfect this year! I had some trouble with it last year. Robert sampled all of it and told me that I was going to make him get fat. I guess that means he liked it all :)


We have been having a lot of fun going to different family parties and are looking forward to a couple more this week. I love this time of year and how people try extra hard to get to know one another and be nice! Hope everyone is doing well and not getting too stressed out!

Hopefully I will be updating soon with news about the baby's gender!!
